The App Store is the best place to search for applications for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. In order to download paid applications, you need to have a credit card connected to your Apple ID. If you are interested only in free applications, to make sure that you find them quickly, in the Search box on the iTunes page, it would be preferable to use words such as ‘free’ or ‘lite’.

Or, if you're interested in a certain category of applications, let's say, for example Communication, you have to click on that category and all those apps included there will appear on your screen. Taking into account that the App Store has around 20 categories or so and thousands of applications, you can imagine that the Communication category has several thousands of apps too.

Before downloading an application, you have to be certain your device complies with the requirements presented by the developer of that app on the iTunes page, where the app is described by its developer itself. Also, another thing that must be checked before proceeding with the download, is if you have enough space to run that app. This, if we are talking about a free application, because if you want to download a paid one, you must be certain that you have enough money on your credit card.

You can find great iPhone applications, if you follow another path as well, which is to use a search engine, like for example Google and discover popular apps. In general, those apps that were just released come with plenty of bugs; if you want to avoid that, you should search only for popular applications. You can see what are the most popular apps on the App Store page as well, but also by reading articles written on different sites.

When you select an application that you like, before downloading it, you should read its description and if possible, watch the trailer of that app on YouTube. In general, if an application benefits of a video presentation as well, this is attached to the written presentation on iTunes. Another important thing is to verify what other people say about that app. If they say it crashes or is full of ads that don't let you enjoy the app, you should not download it. If it is about a paid application, you should check reviews about that app on Google too, not only on iTunes.
